Dr. Ashraf Salama

UK
Dr. Ashraf Salama is Professor of Architecture and Urbanism and Head of the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at Northumbria University, UK. An internationally recognised scholar and educator, he has authored and edited 20+ books, published over 200 research outputs, and secured more than £2 million in research funding. He is Co-Director of the UNESCO/UIA Validation Council for Architectural Education and recipient of the UIA 2017 Jean Tschumi Prize.
Dr. Joy Goodman-Deane
University of Cambridge, UK
Dr. Joy Goodman-Deane is an Assistant Research Professor in the Inclusive Design group at the University of Cambridge’s Engineering Design Centre. Her research focuses on helping companies develop more inclusive products and services for people of diverse ages and abilities. She has helped to develop the Inclusive Design Toolkit and associated tools including the Impairment Simulators, Exclusion Calculator, and Clari-Fi. Her research also examines digital exclusion across areas such as public transport and automotive interfaces.
Dr. Martina Mazzarello
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA
Dr. Martina Mazzarello is a Research Scientist and Global Labs Lead at the MIT Senseable City Lab, where they lead an international network of research labs across Boston, Dubai, Seoul, Amsterdam, and Rio de Janeiro. Their work spans AI and cities, computer vision, urban mobility, climate, sustainability, and data-driven innovation, alongside strategic research partnerships and global program development. They work across academia, government, and industry to build multidisciplinary research programs and translate emerging technologies into real-world impact.
Dr. Ken Tsubouchi
Hokkaido University, Japan
Dr. Ken Tsubouchi is an Assistant Professor of Architectural and Structural Design at Hokkaido University, Japan. His research and academic activities focus on architectural planning, urban studies, environmental behaviour, and community development. He has received several awards, including the 2024 Architectural Institute of Japan Encouragement Award, and actively contributes to research and professional committees in architecture and urban planning.
Dr. Ram Avtar
Faculty of Environmental Earth Science, Hokkaido University, Japan
Dr. Ram Avtar is Associate Professor at Hokkaido University, Japan, and Director of the Global Land Programme (GLP) Japan Nodal Office. His research focuses on geospatial technologies, remote sensing, UAVs, and machine learning for monitoring terrestrial ecosystems, climate change, and sustainable land systems. A former Research Fellow at UNU-IAS, he has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers and contributed as a Lead Author to IPBES. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Green Talents Award by Germany’s BMBF.

Shri Pradeep Kapoor

A former Additional Chief Town Planner, Government of Rajasthan, he has had a distinguished career in town and country planning and has served as Secretary General of ITPI on multiple occasions. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, he has also played a significant role in strengthening the Rajasthan Regional Chapter of ITPI and has been instrumental in organising major national planning events.

A leading researcher in Universal and Inclusive Design, she has received prestigious honours including the Fulbright Fellowship and the ‘Inspired Teacher’ recognition from the President of India. Her work focuses on designing inclusive environments for diverse and marginalised communities, and she has collaborated extensively with the UN and international organisations on disability and public-access issues.
