What ITIU Is All About

The International Conference on Immersive Technologies for Inclusive Urbanization invites researchers and practitioners to explore how Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, and Artificial Intelligence can transform how cities are experienced, navigated and designed for everyone. This platform especially focuses on People with Disabilities (PwD) and elderly, women, and other marginalised segments of society. This platform promotes immersive accessibility audits, real-time spatial assessment, and data-driven infrastructure retrofitting. It also seeks human-centric wayfinding with AR-assisted navigation that extends to intelligent mobility ecosystems by deploying simulations within mixed-reality simulated urban environments for immersive simulation, including barrier identification. Finally, the discourse links these paradigms to universal design innovation, digital twin cities, and participatory technology co-design in creating Inclusive Urbanization.
THEMES
01
Experiential Learning
ActivityExperiential learning that helps us understand how ageing and/or disability affect mobility, perception, and interaction with spaces, allowing us to design more inclusive environments.
02
Strategic Accessibility Audit
Focusing on Accessibility Audits that help us identify physical, sensory, and functional barriers in the built environment, guiding us towards universally accessible spaces.
03
Digital Twin
Investigating Digital Twins allows us to virtually replicate and analyse real-world environments, helping us simulate scenarios, identify design challenges, and make evidence-based decisions for inclusive buildings and spaces.
04
Smart Infrastructure & Mobiliy
Integrating smart interventions and Immersive Technologies (AR/VR/MR) that help us experience and evaluate spaces virtually, allowing us to understand users’ perspectives, test design solutions, and create real-time smart environments.
